Moneta principal Joe Sheehan serves all his clients as their Family CFO. "I consider Moneta Group's core values to be at the heart of everything we do for our clients, and I believe my role is to serve as their advocate," he explains.

"We absolutely advocate for our clients. Every client—whether it is a family, a business or any other entity—faces problems that feel entirely unique to them. We dedicate ourselves to finding them the best possible solutions to their particular financial needs," he says. "I firmly believe that if I am doing the right thing for my clients they will prosper, and that helps me sleep better at night."

Joe was instrumental in creating the Moneta Group Charitable Foundation which is privately funded by the employees and principals of Moneta Group. "We wanted to give back to this community," Joe explained. Since its inception in October, 2000, the Foundation has donated more than $800,000 to local organizations.

Joe graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1974 and then spent seven years in the U.S. Navy as a pilot. After leaving the Navy, he earned an MBA in Finance from Northeastern University, then returned to St. Louis to work in his family's business.

Joe joined Moneta in 1991. In addition to serving clients as a Family CFO, Joe is the past CEO/COO of Moneta Group.  Joe has served and continues to serve on a number of boards and committees. He is a co-founder of Tax Strategies, Inc. (a tax preparation company), a trustee of St. Luke's Hospital and the treasurer of NCCJ. He is also on the boards of National Advisor's Trust Company, Chaminade College Preparatory School and Craft Alliance.  Joe is on the Finance committee for both Chaminade and his church, the Church of St. Michael and St. George, where he has been the Senior Warden (chairman) as well as a member of St. Michael's School Board. He is also a past member of the Schwab Client Advisory Board.

Joe and his wife, Caroline, have twin sons. Joe is most proud of his family.
